Drawing Attention Away from Thinning Hair

Your hair is thinning and you are not really ready to “deal” with it. At least not yet, you will - but not now. So, what can you do in the meantime?thin-hair.jpg

Thinning hair has become a growing problem afflicting more and more people each year. Although there are many reasons for hair loss and thinning hair, the result is the same. It can have a devastating effect on those afflicted with it. There are ways, however, to draw attention away from your thinning hair.

A good first step is to get a layered haircut. Short layers on the crown can help cover the thinning area. Medium length or shorter hairstyles are best for women with thinning hair. Long hair tends to pull hair to the sides and emphasize the thinning hair.short-layered-haircut.jpg

Step two would be to wear bangs or a face-framing style to emphasize your facial features. This will draw attention away from your hair. Flipping the ends of your hair will have the same affect.

A good third step is to use root booster products such as hair spray, gels or conditioners. Such products will provide volume and help conceal the thinning areas.

Step four - find out if you are a cool or warm person and choose your makeup accordingly. This will accentuate your facial features and draw attention away from your hair. Wear colors that flatter your complexion to draw attention to your face.

Step five, consider wearing jewelry such as earrings or a necklace. A silk scarf can be a nice accent, again to draw attention away from the hair.earrings-and-necklace.jpg

Number or step six, request a military hair cut if you are a male with thinning hair. This cut makes hair appear thicker. Other hairstyles for men include short waves or spikes. Shag hairstyles also work for thinning hair because the longer hair can minimize the thinning areas.

And, last but not least, if you are male, growing a beard or mustache will draw attention to your face instead of your thinning or receding hair.

For women, avoid hair extensions. They will add stress to your hair and cause more to fall out. Micro Point Links might be a wonderful option for you instead. Also, avoid barrettes or hair ornaments as these separate your hair and draw more attention to it.

When you are ready for a permanent solution to your problem, call Fantasia and schedule a free consultation with one of our Hair Replacement Specialist. They would be happy to help you find a great solution which will fit in with your lifestyle.
