Natural Alternatives for Hair Loss

Are there alternative things you can do for hair re-growth and color? According to Dr. Charles Turner and Dr. Todd Hostetler, chiropractic physicians, there are alternative options which they are lecturing about. In their lectures, they will discuss alternative medicine, natural hair re-growth and color restoration, weight loss and natuaral pain medication.thinning-hair.jpg

The natural treatment the doctors recommend for hair re-growth and color restoration is PABA. PABA works in about 40 percent of the people who take it in high does, Dr. Hostetler says. PABA is a form of aminobenzoic acid which is part of the vitamin-B Complex family. When it works, it can result in hair regrowth, color restoration and softer skin because it improves certain metabolic functions in the body after about two to three months.

Unlike medications, there are benefits and absolutely no side effects. In addition to recommending the PABA for hair issues, the doctors deal with weight loss management by putting patients on high-protein, low-carbohydrate diets and stressing the individuals keep a journal of everything they eat. The doctors recommend chromium, a mineral which decreases carbohydrate cravings.

Additionally the doctors recommend taking natural supplements, in some cases a natural thyroid hormone used to treat hypothyrodism and of course, exercise.

The doctors have had tremendous success with some of the patients they have worked with. One patient, a non-fiction writer, reports that her hair had turned white, but, she started taking PABA and in about two months, her hair returned to its natural dark blond color. She said it didn’t happen overnight but, gradually the hair became less white. Another patient reports that “my hair in the front was thinning and the bangs were practically bald”. She started taking the PABA and after two months, her bangs grew in full and black like her natural hair color.

Remember, these alternative treatments work about 40% of the time. For the other 60%, there is Hair Support System and Micropoint links for the thinning hair. You may want to try a natural approach first and see if it works for you. If not, don’t despair as there are solutions for thinning hair and hair loss. With one in four of the baby boomers dealing with hair loss issues, you have not been forgotten!

Fun Home Hair Care Recipes

Most women desire beautiful hair. Some of us will spend a small fortune to get it whether on the latest and greatest shampoos and conditioners or styling products. However, you don’t have to spend a ton or have the fancy packaging and designer brands to have great hair. You may be surprised to know there are some great hair care products which can be found right in your own kitchen!

We all know there are natural masks we can use and doing so will keep our skin smooth, clean and blemish free. Of course treating ourselves to a facial on a regular basis is a good thing if the budget will allow it, and it gives us some much needed pampering because of the relaxed atmosphere. But, did you know you can also do a mask for your hair? Olive oil is a great ingredient for hair care because it effectively moisturizes the strands of hair much like a hot oil treatment. Combine the oil with eggs or honey, put on a shower cap and leave on for about fifteen minutes before rinsing. Personally, I used to use mayonnaise and hot towels. I smelled like a salad for awhile, but my hair was nice and soft after this treatment.

The most common culprit which makes hair look dull and lifeless is a residue of shampoo and styling products which never get rinsed out of the hair completely. Before you shampoo, run a cup of lemon juice or vinegar through your hair and leave it on for a few minutes. This helps to strip the hair of residual oils and products so that your shampoo can do it’s work properly. You can also use one of these rinses after shampooing for some extra shine to your tresses. Add some herbs to your rinse such as rosemary or nettle and your hair will smell great. If all of this sounds like too overwhelming and like too much work; come to Fantasia and try Hair Suport System which is natural and will also get all of the residues from products out of your hair and off your scalp and leave your hair smelling great!

Fruit and vegetables are great ingredients to use in your hair care, from cucumbers for oily hair, to avocados which will moisturize dry strands of hair. Peaches make a great natural treatment for normal hair, and, you can use the leftovers for a cleansing facial mask! Try mashing or blending these fruits and vegetables to a smooth texture and apply them to your freshly washed hair. Leave in for a few minutes and rinse thoroughly. You hair will shine, guaranteed!

Natural hair care recipes are great! However they can be messy and a lot of work. So, if you can afford it, treat yourself to a trip to the salon. If you do both, you will have the best hair in town!
